Rededication
Poem by Sara Stock Mayo

Light, hidden in darkness
mysterious
more beautiful
than the brightest star
nestled womblike
A fire in the belly
silently waiting to burst forth

Surrendering to the unknown
collision of past and future
strands of history pulling us, centuries upon centuries
out of despair, towards hope
We make it bend and change
creating new worlds out of shards of light

Worlds where apathy turns to action
Once blindly, surrendering to darkness
Now, turning towards newly lit pathways
transcendence

Rededication
We are our own ancient temples
sacred vessels
holy and whole
broken and beautiful
cracked and healing

Our hope glistens like a song
ephemeral as the wind
calling us to put down our weapons of war
and turn them into musical instruments
creating a world where hidden light and blessed darkness
pour forth in harmony
A universal symphony
